Showing Up Across District 4

One of the commitments I made when I decided to run for State Senate was simple: show up, listen, and be present in the communities I’m asking to represent. This week has been about doing exactly that.
I’ve been spending time meeting with local fire chiefs and public safety leaders to better understand what they’re dealing with day to day. These conversations matter. Public safety in rural Maine looks very different than it does on paper, and the people doing the work deserve to be heard directly—not filtered through reports or assumptions.
Tonight, I’ll be attending Glenburn’s town meeting. Local government is where many of the most important decisions actually happen, and it’s important to be in the room, listening to residents and understanding the priorities and concerns being raised at the town level.
This Saturday, January 24, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., I’ll also be attending the Piscataquis County Caucus. It’s another opportunity to connect, listen, and engage with people who care deeply about the future of our communities and our state.
Today, I also shared a pledge—one that reflects how I intend to conduct myself throughout this campaign and, if elected, in office. It’s a commitment to service before politics, to accountability, and to remembering that the decisions made in Augusta affect real people, including my own family, because we live here too.
This campaign isn’t about checking boxes or chasing headlines. It’s about being present, building trust, and doing the work the right way. I’m grateful for every conversation so far, and I’m looking forward to many more in the days ahead.
I’ll continue sharing weekly updates as this campaign moves forward, and I look forward to seeing many of you out in our communities in the weeks ahead.
